Dominga Gardner

Dominga Gardner is a devoted wife, mother, community servant, and technology professional who brings compassion, leadership, and dedication to every area of her life. She moved to Helena, Alabama in 2006 with her husband of 23 years, LaKeon Gardner, and their two daughters, Kirsen and Kya—both proud products of Helena schools and former members of the Helena Teen Council. Kirsen is a graduate of Jacksonville State University, and Kya recently earned her degree from Samford University.

With over 18 years of service in the Jefferson County Merit System, Dominga currently serves as a Senior Systems Analyst for the Jefferson County Commission. In her role, she leads a team focused on optimizing workflow processes and implementing enterprise-wide technology solutions. She also shares her knowledge and passion for technology as a former Adjunct Professor at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama.

Dominga is a proud alumna of Mississippi State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with minors in Mathematics and Software Engineering. She also holds two Master of Science degrees—one in Educational Technology and another in Information Systems.

A woman of deep faith, Dominga is an active member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves as Trustee Chair, Assistant Youth Director, Audio/Visual Ministry Leader, and Bible Study Teacher. Her commitment to service extends far beyond the church walls—mentoring local youth, coaching track and field throwers at Helena Middle and High School, and volunteering with the YMCA volleyball program.
